Yamaha India reported mixed domestic sales for its various models in August 2025. Yamaha continues to offer customers several popular models in its scooter and bike segments, including the RayZR, FZ, MT15, R15, Fascino, Aerox, and R3. A total of 60,413 units were sold this month, representing a marginal increase of 0.30% compared to the previous year.

Notably, the company recorded a strong monthly sales growth of 19.95% compared to July 2025, indicating an expected increase in automobile sales during the festive season. This article is based on Yamaha India’s August 2025 sales report, detailing the sales figures for each model, their fluctuations in sales, and their market popularity. It will also discuss how recent government policies, such as the GST reduction, have impacted prices and highlights of Yamaha’s models this year.

Yamaha India Sales Breakup:

Talking first about Yamaha’s best-selling model, the RayZR scooter contributed the most to the company’s sales this month, selling 20,671 units. This represents a year-on-year growth of 27.10% compared to August last year. On a monthly basis, this figure represents a 25.88% increase. The RayZR’s popularity is attributed to its affordable price (starting at approximately ₹73,430), mileage (approximately 71.33 kmpl), and high-performance 125cc engine equipped with hybrid technology.

The scooter also boasts advanced features like the Y-Connect Bluetooth app, LED DRLs, and a stop-start system, making it a popular choice among young people.

In the motorcycle segment, the FZ model sold 14,323 units, a growth of 16.89% year-on-year and 28.92% month-on-month. The FZ is known for its robust design and reliable performance. The MT15 model also performed well, selling 10,613 units, registering a growth of 6.89% year-on-year and 24.65% month-on-month. The MT15 continues to be a top choice, especially among young bikers, as it offers superior technology and fuel efficiency along with a sporty look.

Yamaha India Sales Breakup

Sales of the R15 model declined slightly, selling 7,529 units in August 2025, down 12.28% from last year, but monthly sales increased by 13.68%. The R15 will soon be launched with an updated model, which is expected to improve demand.

While sales of the Fascino scooter declined significantly, selling only 4,849 units this time, a 56.43% decrease from last year. The Aerox scooter performed well, selling 2,424 units, an increase of 21.32% year-on-year and 8.26% month-on-month. In the premium segment, sales of the R3 and MT-03 remained virtually stagnant; only 4 units were sold in August, a massive 94.74% decline compared to last year.

The government’s GST reduction, effective October 1, 2025, has reduced prices for bikes and scooters with engines under 350cc. Yamaha has reduced prices on several of its models in line with this reduction, making them even more attractive to customers. The price reduction, particularly for models like the RayZR and FZ, has boosted their sales figures.

Yamaha is facing a festive season and new model launches in the next few months, which will further boost the company’s sales. The RayZR, FZ, and MT15 are expected to remain in high demand due to new technology, improved fuel efficiency, and affordable pricing. The updated R15 will hopefully re-engage the youth.

In summary, Yamaha India performed well in August 2025, with total sales of 60,413 units. The RayZR, FZ, and MT15 demonstrated strong sales, while the Fascino and R3 models faced challenges. The company plans to improve this situation further in the coming months with policy reforms and new products.

This sales performance indicates that Yamaha’s plans are in line with market needs and will be successful in increasing demand for its key models during the festive season.
