2025 Yamaha Rajdoot 350 LegendaryBike: The Yamaha RX350 was not just a motorcycle, but a small part of Indian motorcycle history. Introduced in the early 1980s, the Rajdoot 350 soon became a popular bike for its tremendous power and fast speed as well as evergreen design. Now Yamaha is preparing to bring this retro motorcycle back to the market. It will have a combination of old-fashioned charm and new-age technology.

Magical charm of classic design: Timeless style

The Rajdoot 350’s design was inspired by the racing bikes of that era – slim frame, round headlamp, chrome finish and sporty look. Its fuel tank was 16 liters with the ‘Rajdoot’ or ‘Yamaha’ logo proudly shining on it. The seat was comfortable yet sporty, perfect for long rides. Weighing just 143 kg, it was easy to handle.

There were telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, which provided stability even on rough roads. The brakes were drum type – front 180 mm and rear 150 mm. The tires were 3.00-18 inch, which were known for grip. Colour options like black, red and silver made it more attractive. Compared to today’s retro-modern bikes like the Royal Enfield Classic, the Rajdoot’s design was more minimalist and race-oriented. Many riders still restore it and ride it, because its look never gets old.

Powerful engine and performance of the motorcycle

It features a 349cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that delivers smooth, yet exciting power under the retro bodywork, according to the company. This engine generates a peak power of 36 HP and a peak torque of 32 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox for better highway cruising. Yamaha has tuned the engine better for city use and long-distance travel. The exhaust sound is soft, yet reminiscent of the deep rumble that became popular due to the single-cylinder engine used in the original Rajdoot 350.

New era begins with modern features

Unlike the simplicity of the old Rajdoot 350, this version has many features. These upgrades have made the bike not only better for daily rides but also safer in modern traffic.

LED headlamp and tail lamp

Fully digital LCD instrument console

Dual-channel ABS

Slipper clutch for easy downshifts

Bluetooth connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation

Thrill of Speed: Performance that Wins Hearts

The Rajdoot 350 is said to have a top speed of 145-170 kmph, which was much higher than other bikes of that time. Riding experience? Like flying! Acceleration so fast that the rider had to stick to the seat. It was stable on the highway, but its low mileage (15-20 kmpl in city) was a challenge in city traffic.

Many riders have stories – like how they used it for racing or going on long trips. But safety features were limited, so helmets and caution were a must. Today, people share their stories in clubs like RD 350 aficionados groups.

Mileage and efficiency of the motorcycle

Talking about its fuel efficiency, despite having a large single-cylinder engine, it gives a mileage of 28-32 km/liter. The modern fuel injection in it ensures that it provides good fuel efficiency according to its capacity. It is perfect for daily runs or going out of town. It also has many features for safety. Resurrection rumours: Dream of comeback in 2025

In recent years, rumours of a relaunch of the Rajdoot 350 in 2025 have been rife. Several YouTube videos and blogs claim that Yamaha is bringing a modern version – with a 350cc single-cylinder engine, retro looks but modern features like ABS and digital instruments. However, there is no such announcement on Yamaha’s official website. These rumours stem from fans’ expectations, but if true, it will be a revolution. At the moment, it seems to be just a dream.
